Lawn Care Tips From Delesco
Mowing: It is essential that lawns are mowed 2.5 to 3 inches in height. This will enable a deep , extensive root system, retain better soil moisture, and crowd out weeds.
Fertilizing: Have Delesco keep your lawn well fertilized with the highest quality fertilizers. We offer granular slow release, corn gluten, and alfalfa. As well as our new natural liquid kelp with added micronutrients.
This is essential in keeping a thick dense lawn. The best defense against weeds and insects.
Watering: During hot dry spells it is necessary to irrigate your lawn. We recommend at least 1 inch (2-5cm) per week. Deep and infrequent is the key. Early morning is the ideal time, as it leaves lawns less susceptible to disease.
Aerating: Aerating your lawn allows better flow of water, air and nutrients to the plant roots, allowing them to grow more easily through the soil. We at Delesco use only CORE AERATION by PLUGR. This machine removes small plugs in a clean manner.
Over Seeding: Seeding your lawn is best done in the fall. This will further help the lawn defend itself against weeds. This can be done in conjunction with a top dressing or lawn aeration.
Topdressing: Have Delesco top dress your lawn with a new compost product that is derived from leaf and yard trimmings. Delesco's top dressing adds microbial life, and organic matter to the soil. It does not contain any manure or animal by products.
It enables the lawn stays greener, longer during the hot dry spells in the summer.
