STORIES Line

Jules(Julius) worked on the Julius(Jules) Simair homestead with his brother Joseph(Joe) up until he got married in 1947, thereafter he took over three quarters of the homestead which included the home place. Then Joe purchased a farm 3 miles north of the homestead and moved his family there, and retained three quarters of the homestead, the two brothers thereafter continued to assist each other with farm task. Jules along with his wife Jeanne remodeled the homestead home, which was a big under taking, as much of the home layout was changed. Jules raised cattle, sowed oats, wheat and barley for market which provided keep for his family. In the late 1950's Jules moved the homestead home to the town of Springside, Saskatchewan, upon moving to Springside he did several jobs as while as farming, which included driving a school bus, and maintenance of the community arena. In the early 1970's Jules sold what he owned in Springside and moved his family to Yorkton, and there spent several years building homes and Jeanne lead a successful career in Real Estate sales. Jules was a super guy to work and have fun with, he loved to play, all his life he served his God and cared for his family. Jules liked to hunt in his early years, he played ball for the Springside ball team, which was a very good team, the team actually had a player that was scouted by the New York Yankee's ball team. Upon retiring Jules moved out to Kelowna, British Columbia, and lived there until his death in 1999.
